Aditya Kothari
Position: Masters Student
Focus: Semantic Autonomy for Navigation
Bio:
Aditya is a first-year MS student in Aeronautics & Astronautics at Stanford, researching semantic feature extraction for autonomous navigation and sim-to-real transfer using 3D Gaussian Splats at the Multi-Robot Systems Lab. His work focuses on bridging perception and high-level reasoning with controls for robot autonomy, with experience spanning language-guided autonomous driving, hierarchical reinforcement learning for robotic control, and multi-object state estimation. Before Stanford, he earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from VIT, where he led a 25-member UAV and Robotics team and interned at Boeing, Tata Motors, and India’s Aeronautical Development Agency. He also worked on sponsored projects with GKN Aerospace, AIRBUS, Honeywell Aerospace and Forbes Marshall. He is a Narotam Sekhsaria Fellow, KC Mahindra Scholar, and JITO JEAP Scholar.
Outside the lab, Aditya enjoys hiking and loves racket sports.
