Zijian Wang

Zijian is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Aeronautics & Astronautics from Stanford University. He received a Bachelor of Science in Automation Science from Beihang University, Beijing, China in 2013, and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University, Boston, MA in 2016. 
 
Zijian’s current research interest is multi-robot manipulation, where he designs distributed controller for a group of robots to collectively transport heavy objects without explicit communication. To quickly learn about his work, you can watch short videos here and here.
 
He is also a robot enthusiast and the chief designer of several robot platforms, including: (1) Molecules, a modular self-reconfigurable robot; (2) Boxfish, a biomimetic underwater robot; (3) OuijaBot, a ROS-compatible omnidirectional research robot platform; (4) m3pi manipulator, a proof-of-concept mobile swarm manipulator.
